My friend Isabel Gordon has always loved photography. In the 1960s, Isabel was commissioned to photograph children and their shadows for a book written by another author. Unable to obtain reprint rights after the death of the original author, in 1988 Isabel wrote and published a similar book with all her photographs, A Good Day For Shadows. She went on to write and/or illustrate four additional books. I have had the pleasure of knowing Isabel for about the last eight years. At 98 and 11 months, she is on the precipice of heaven. Knowing this, she ordered another printing of this book for all those who love her to bring home a piece of her pride and joy.
Isabel has encouraged my writing. Championing me along the way, she has taught me that even when our time here is through, we will find joy in the fun we had following our hearts, imagination, and creativity.
